How to improve the quality of your mind
It's time to start noticing your experiences instead of immediately reacting to them.
What if we stopped reacting to the experiences we have in each moment and simply observed them? What would our state of mind be throughout the day?
As I go through all the activities and experiences throughout the day, my mind immediately falls into reaction mode by telling me stories to keep me safe and in my comfort zone, which results in me playing small in life with my usual thought patterns.
My mind wants to protect me by judging each moment as good or bad, but what if I simply noticed my experience and did not label it?
For example, say I have a conversation with someone, and they say something that causes a reaction within me. I don't need to be in reactive mode and immediately fall into some story my mind dreams up. I can notice the experience and my thoughts and emotions instead of being caught up in my default and habitual reactions that aren't helpful.
By noticing each moment as I go through the day, I can be present and pay attention instead of being lost in thought and without the inner struggle that usually happens.
Yes, there will be times of stress, but those are the moments when the mind needs to observe and notice instead of being in reaction mode.
Noticing our experiences instead of reacting is not an easy or quick change. Still, the good thing is that we have many opportunities throughout the day to practice noticing our thoughts and experiences as they happen so we can keep experimenting and adjusting our approach along the way.
As the quality of your mind improves, so will your experience in each moment because your mind won't be working against you; instead, you will be able to notice the subtleties and vivid details of life that often get overlooked.
There is no better time to begin noticing than right now. As you go about your day, instead of reacting and judging what you experience each moment, simply notice the experience.
Take this opportunity to journal your experiences to help you better understand your mind.
Notice your thoughts and emotions as you go through each experience without your default reactions to see the quality of your mind improve so you can live your life with clarity and purpose.
