🎙️ New Conversation: The Power of Mindsets and Mindfulness
My conversation with designer and coach, Nirish Shakya,on the Design Feeling podcast
Has there been a turning point in your career?
One where you can clearly see the trajectory of your career change.
My wake-up call happened a few years into starting as a UX designer during a performance review. The feedback I received from my manager opened my eyes and led me to acknowledge areas of improvement.
As a result, I planned to strengthen my design and presentation skills and, most importantly, use sketching to explore my ideas by actively practicing and improving these skills.
This experience taught me the value of external feedback and the importance of continuous personal growth in my design career.
Understanding the power of feedback is just one of the topics Nirish Shakya, and I explored on the latest episode of the Design Feeling podcast.
We also discussed:
Importance of improving your public speaking skills.
The power of morning pages for awareness, reflection, and self-discovery.
How I started Low Fidelity to help creatives overcome their inner challenges to achieve their potential.
The idea that it all begins with our mindset and how developing an experimentation mindset helped me overcome a major obstacle in my life and career.
The power mindsets, such as the beginner's, abundance, and experimentation mindsets, affect how we show up and live our potential.
How a mindfulness practice is vital in developing resilience against anxious thoughts that can impact your career.
How working with a coach may be necessary to overcome our inner struggles because they can provide an objective voice to help you overcome negative thinking.
Here is a preview of our conversation:
There were a lot more insights from my wonderful conversation so have a listen and remember that we have the power and agency to reframe our experiences and shift our mindsets to empower ourselves and take action towards our full potential.
