Stopping procrastination in its tracks by using the Spark To Action framework with Patricia Leveque
Low Fidelity Podcast - Episode 7
Hi friends,
In my last email, I shared with you that I was a bit behind on my podcast schedule. I had fallen into a dip in energy and felt like I was losing my focus. As tried to understand what was causing this, I realized that I was resting too much between releasing podcast episodes which made me lose focus and the momentum I gained each time I published an episode. So together with my coach, I believe I can keep my focus by shortening the time in between publishing a new episode. So I will go from publishing an episode once a month to every two weeks. It’s an experiment and I’ll keep adjusting along the way to keep moving forward.
All this to say that we all have our own unique situations, needs, skills, and goals that you need to look at yourself and what you are comfortable doing. What works for one person will not necessarily work for another. Becoming self-aware is a good step to being more in touch with your own needs.
So I am happy to say that I am feeling great once again and will be focusing on consistency in both output and schedule.
On to the announcement!
I recently had a wonderful conversation with Patricia Leveque, a writer, educator, and procrastination coach who shared her insights on beating procrastination and doing work that aligns with our core values.
I first met Patricia in the Ship 30-for-30 program, a writing program to help you build a consistent writing habit. Her wonderful essays about creativity and joy in ordinary moments helped me be more grateful and appreciate the time I spend with my family.
She also helped me understand how to be more focused and procrastinate less with her Spark To Action Framework which she explained in detail.
A few highlights from our conversation:
Change takes time and an important part of change is accomodating your needs by becoming more self-aware
We need to be mindful and make the choices that actually move us forward toward our goals
Reduce your to-do list to help you reduce your mental clutter to gain clarity
The Spark To Action Framework can help to make sure you are working on the tasks that align with your values and goals
Focus on growth over perfection
Patricia also shared a great listener challenge to help you take action on what you learned from our conversation because, at the end of the day, action speaks louder than words to help you reach your full potential.
