✌🏽Greetings, friend!
I hope you're having a great start to your week.
Today I want to first take a moment to thank each of you, whether you are brand new here, joined a few months ago, or have been with me since the beginning. I appreciate your attention each week and will do my best to make Low Fidelity a place where you can learn about ideas that will help you bring positive change in your life. I am also excited to learn from your unique experience and point of view just as I gain insights from each one of my guests on the Unleash Your Mindset! podcast.
Building a community
As our community grows here on Substack, there are a few different ways you can join the conversations and interactions.
There have been some exciting changes here lately, so let's look at each one.
1. Comments on Posts - With each post, you have the ability to comment. Availability: Website & Substack app.
2. Weekly Discussions - Every Friday, I share a question I have been curious about lately. These are longer conversations that dive into a specific topic. Availability: Website & Substack app.
3. Chat (New) - This new functionality is only available within the Substack App (Download Here - iOS Only). Think of chats as a dedicated space for more casual interactions. This is where we can share quick updates and reply with photos and emoji reactions. (Note: Right now, only I can start a chat, but hopefully soon, anyone can begin one.)

A Conversation with UX Vocab Club
I recently had a great conversation with Hilary Cluett, founder of the UX Vocab club, where she helps UX Designers accelerate their careers by improving their presentation skills in English.
We talked about:
Overcoming self-doubt
Shining the light on the areas within us we have ignored for too long
Tackling our limiting beliefs.
Watch our conversation.
Confession time: I had difficulty watching myself in the video above. My fight-or-flight reaction is getting better each time. As I thought about my reaction, the following poem came to mind.
Watching myself on video - A Poem
Only in my head.
Feeling cringy, only in my head.
Watching and hearing myself in a video,
As well as feeling unease and wanting to run away was only in my head.
Only in my head.
Feeling embarrassed, only in my head.
Noticing my mistakes and verbal tics,
As well as feeling unease and wanting to run away was only in my head.
Only in my head.
Expecting perfection only in my head.
Ignoring compliments of being helpful and doing great
As well as feeling unease and wanting to run away was only in my head.
I can relax,
I did a good job.
All these feelings of unease and fear, after all, were only in my head.
How about you?
Getting out of our comfort zone can be scary and uncomfortable and trigger fight-or-flight feelings. The more we can stay with the feelings of unease and become comfortable with them, the easier it will get because any thoughts of being uncomfortable or embarrassed are, after all, only in our heads.
That’s it for today. Please reach out with any feedback or questions you have.
And as always, I’m rooting for you!
Stay strong!
Rizwan
Rizwan, I like what you said about journaling and how those things we put to paper as just emptying our minds daily (and sometimes our hearts!) can be topics that develop into posts. I definitely get the same result from journaling.
